HARRIS, David John Darwent
(1934-2012)
It is with great sadness that we announce David has set sail in search of the elusive ' green flash'. David passed away in the early morning hours of August 28th, while spending a weekend at his cottage in Muskoka, surrounded by friends. David was predeceased by his father, David Wagstaff Harris, his mother, Mary Ritchie Harris, and his infant brother Derek. He will be dearly missed by his step-mother Inez Harris of B.C., his partner Sandra Henderson, as well as his many cousins in Canada, Scotland, the U.S., and numerous friends.
David will be lovingly remembered by the Winchell family: Suzanne; his godson Luther, Tina and Kaitlyn; Christoper, Catherine and Charlotte. David was known for his engaging personality and an ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He made friends wherever he went and touched the hearts of many. Cremation has taken place. Interment at 2:00 p.m. at Park Lawn Cemetery on Wednesday September 12th. Guests for the interment are asked to meet at the Prince Edward Drive gates south of Bloor Street just prior to 2 p.m. A celebration of David's life will follow from 4 - 7 p.m. at the RCYC Island dining room, on what would have been his 78th birthday.
