Obituary of Frances Janitsch

With the strength and grace that marked her life, died at her Toronto home, in her 99th year, Born in Czechoslovakia, she emigrated to Canada at the age of 17. She married Anthony D. Janitsch in 1940; and they raised their family in Montreal, Belleville and Prince Edward County. She moved to Toronto on the death of her dear husband in 1987. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Trina and Don McQueen, Pauline Janitsch and Max Ferguson, Mary Janitsch (predeceased), Bill Janitsch, Clifford Janitsch and Kathryn Bateman. Dear grandmother of Jennifer McQueen and Tony Ferguson; and loved great-grandmother of Lucas and Alexander Budd. She was an accomplished homemaker, poet and artist; a lover of opera and a wonderful gardner. Her family was the centre of her life. "It is the simple things of life that make living worthwhile, the sweet fundamental things: love and duty, work and rest, and living close to nature." The family thanks the staff at Briton House and Dr. Heath for their affectionate and excellent care. A private service was held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
