Obituary of Roseanne Wheler
Roseanne 'Rosie' Wheler (nee Hinton)
Died quietly at home surrounded by her husband Douglas, her devoted daughters Jennifer, Virginia and Joulie, and sons-in-law John and Paul. In her 73rd year, Rosie was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The youngest of three daughters of Merrie and Dick Hinton (sisters Judy and Jane), Rosie was born in Victoria, BC in 1937. She attended Forest Hill Collegiate and the Ontario College of Art. As an artist, Rosie brought beauty, honesty and elegant simplicity to all she touched. Remarkably talented and effortlessly graceful, she was known for her kindness, generosity and nonjudgmental acceptance of others. For her children she led inspired art classes in their schools, produced visionary skating costumes for ice shows and designed unforgettable formal dresses among innumerable other projects. Rosie had an eclectic career including a successful retail business selling teddy bears and a design studio on Queen Street East. In recent years she applied her creative energies to her role as grandmother and to developing her nutritious and original recipes. She was dedicated to her seven grandchildren Claire, Micaela, Keelian, Callachan, Amelia Rose, Charlotte and Isabella. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your own meaningful charity.
