Dear Doug, girls and family, We were shocked and saddened to learn that Rosie had died! We had no idea that she was ill and rue that fact as we would have liked to say good bye. Our hearts go out to you all as you mourn the loss of a dear wife, mother, grandmother and sister. I was in the bridge group we started years ago when our children were all very young. This ended up being called the dinner bridge club where we never even got the cards out! We have very fond memories! May you take comfort in knowing that others mourn her loss. Our sincere sympathies, Milan and Sharon

I was shocked and saddened to read about Mrs. Wheler's death. Remember her fondly at the skating rink where I skated with Jennifer, Virginia and Julie. On competition days, many of us carried around our stylish teddy bears (for good luck) which came from her store. I still have mine. Nobody will forget all the beautiful skating dresses and costumes that she designed and sewed. She had a quiet grace about her. Thinking of you all, Simca

My condolences to the family. I have such wonderful memories of time spent at the Wheler house in high school, where the 'cool' parents lived. Friday night Love Boat was a family affair, and Rosie made me feel like family too. Blessings to all. Susan Frerking

I was so shocked and so very sad to read of Rosie's death. We were part of the same bridge group of friends who shared much over the years: struggles and joy. Although we had visited rarely recently, I will miss her. She loved you all so much. I am so sorry for your loss. Mabs

We were shocked to read the Globe this AM. Even when our lives took us on different paths I still considered Rosie to be my long standing high school friend. A beautiful person. Our sincere sympathy to all the family. An upsetting day for us. love Sally & Neil.
