I played golf with Don on several occasions mainly at the BOMA annual event and at the REIC summer event.
He and I realized we would never be great golfers but we enjoyed each others company and watching the other miss his shots.
Don decided to get an edge on me and bought a new set of graphite shafted clubs but complained that the club was not working properly and threatened to get rid of it.
He offered it to me to try during a BOMA round and I managed to hit a couple of better than usual drives. Don then said "It must be me as the club worked for you."
I went out after that and bought some graphite shafted clubs.
On another occasion shortly after he bought the set he was out on the range, before we started our round, when during a particularly fine hit the driver head followed the ball out into the middle of the range. He reported it and when we came in to the club house his golfclub head was waiting for him and we had a good laugh over his strength and the quality of his expensive clubs.

I met Don in his "retirement years" when he was working full time with us. He was a delightful colleague, appreciated by our staff and clients alike. His deep understanding of the industry, his modesty and willingness to share his knowledge made him a very popular team member. I particularly appreciated his ability to put things in perspective and, most of all, his great sense of humour. In a sea of Sassenachs, Don stood out like a beacon!

Dear Barbara I was so sorry to hear about the death of your husband. I know he has been ill for a long time and that you have been attentive and devoted. Even when you know someone is not well, it is still hard to accept the loss. I am not sure that I will be able to make it to the visitation but I wanted you to know that I am thinking of you at this time and look forward to your return to Tai Chi when you are able. Lois

The industry has lost a dedicated colleague who will be sorely missed and we thank him for his contribution to our success.

Dear Barbara and family: I met Don about 30 years ago. I was just a young girl starting out in the real estate business. He was such a gentle person, with a wry sense of humour. Mostly I remember his kindness to me. He was always a gentleman and we laughed together quite a bit. He seemed always concerned for me, and I will always appreciate his good graces and intentions for me. I came to renew my acquaintance with Don and Barbara through my current employment, and I was truly delighted to be back in touch with him. I am very very sorry for his loss. I hope that he knew that I cared about him and will always remember him fondly. With Love, Trudy Brown
