LANG, Helen
Born September 13, 1923 in England, died peacefully May 6, 2011 in Toronto at Belmont House. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Henry McAlister Lang, Q.C., by her children Michael (Patty), Susan (Patrick LeSage), and Sheila (Michael Radford) as well as by her grandchildren James Lang, Jeffrey and Andrew Lang-Weir and David, Matthew, and Ben Radford. She was predeceased by her son Peter McAlister Lang and his wife Gloria. Helen served in the Royal Corps of Signals during WWII. While serving in Belgium, she met Henry who was a pilot in the R.C.A.F. After marrying in Bath, England on January 28, 1946, Helen and Henry moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Henry's home town. Helen devoted her life to the care and support of her husband and children while serving her church and community. Helen Lang was a woman of courage, grace and an abiding faith. The family is grateful to the staff at Belmont House as well as Vima Rosete. We particularly thank Alma Ablona for her compassionate care of both Helen and Henry. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 8. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MONICA'S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 44 Broadway Avenue, Toronto on Monday, May 9 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice or to Belmont House Foundation, 55 Belmont Street, Toronto M5R 1R1.
