Obituary of Robert Magee
Robert Magee, age 60, died at the WynField Long Term Care Facility, on Thursday, February 10, 2011, after a spirited battle with cancer. His sense of humour and zest for life carried him through. He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Magee, sisters Joan, Mary, and Elizabeth, and much loved cats Nosy and Posy. Born in Toronto, he was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Desmond Boyd Magee and Nina Lee Magee née Franklin, sister Virginia, and step-brother Terry Franklin. Robert was a paramedic with the City of Toronto for 36 years and was always passionate about the help he was able to provide through his work. His proudest moment was receiving a merit award in May, 2008, and then a long term service award in June, 2010. Thanks to Charlene at the Lynde Creek Manor, Joanne Blundell, Dorothy, Dr. Laudanski (Robert's family doctor), Dr. Baker at Ajax Pickering Hospital, and all the staff at WynField Long Term Care Facility, for all of their support and loving care over the years of Robert's illness. Special thanks to Ben's Pharmacy of Woodville and Ben Smith, for their many years of understanding and patience. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from three o'clock on Tuesday, February 15 for a service in the chapel at four o'clock. If desired, and in lieu of flowers, donations to WynField Long Term Care Residence, 451 Woodmount Drive, Oshawa L1G 8E3 would be appreciated.
