BICKFORD, James (Jim) Gordon Dearly beloved husband of Jetta Goodger-Hill Bickford died at the E. W. Bickle Centre, Palliative Care Unit, on Monday, February 7, 2011 in his 83rd year. He was the only son of Harold Gordon Bickford and Jean Forbes Stark Bickford, of Huntingdon, Quebec, an area settled by his ancestors when they immigrated from Scotland. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Jetta. He also leaves his sister-in-law Nola Goodger-Hill, her son Sean Milne, his partner Lesley Duchamie and their children, his brother-in-law, Gareth Goodger-Hill, wife Carol, daughter Kyenta, her husband Claude Martins and child Cate Martins and a second brother-in-law, Trevor Goodger-Hill and his son Marc Martin and wife Tatiana. He is mourned by his dear friend Laura Poon and her family. Jim was a career banker at Canadian Bank of Commerce (later Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce). He served the Bank in various capacities both in Canada and abroad, and spent many years running the Bank's International Division which encompassed every country outside Canada - the area of banking which was closest to his heart. Jim was a director on many boards, most of which were as a volunteer and always cheerfully gave his time to helping others. His many interests included music, books, chess, photography, stamp collecting and traveling and he shared these interests with many friends. He treasured the friendships he made and his close ties with the Black Watch Regiment and Association. He was also a member of the St. Andrew's Society. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him. A Traditional Scottish Funeral Service to celebrate Jim's life will be held at HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL on Wednesday February 16, 2011 at 11:00, followed by a reception afterwards. If desired, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
