Obituary of Margaret Catalfamo

Margaret Mary Catalfamo (nee Slater) Passed away suddenly and far too soon, on January 28, 2011. Margaret was a loving wife to Joseph Catalfamo and devoted mother to Sierra and Emma. Predeceased by her father Ian Slater, she will be sadly missed by her mother Moria Slater, mother-in-law Maria Catalfamo, sister Barbara Moreau, brothers James and Malcolm, sisters-in-law Connie and Antonina Catalfamo and brothers-in-law Francois Moreau and Jed Braithwaite. She was a wonderful and generous aunt to nieces Emily and Hannah and nephews Wesley, William, Richard and Andrew. A passionate educator, she inspired many young minds as a teacher of more than 20 years, primarily with the Toronto District School Board. She had a smile that could light up a room; a soft, but irresistible presence that demanded the attention of all. Her exceptional creative side blossomed through her many artistic endeavours. Our heartfelt gratitude to those who provided her compassion and friendship. She will be cherished, loved and remembered by all who knew her. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2011. A funeral mass will be held in OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION PARISH, 2565 Bathurst St. (at Castlefield Avenue), at 10 o'clock on February 3. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Foundation, 901 King Street West, Suite 502, PO Box 20, Toronto, ON, M5V 3H5. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com. Where You Are I may not see you anymore, But I know you're still around. You've passed on to something great, You're liberated, unbound. I can hear you gently sighing As the wind blows through the trees. You're at peace, you are serene As you rustle through the leaves. I can feel your anger Booming on the shore. Waves crash down with power Makes me tremble to my core. I can see you laughing When the constellations shine. Lighting up the darkness, Immortal for all time. I know when you are dreaming; White clouds drift in the air. Your mind is absent of all thought, Bliss like this is rare. And I can feel your sorrow As the cold rain drizzles down. I know that you are weeping, Your face distorted into a frown. I can see your smile And your beautiful soul shows, With every tiny sparkle That dazzles on the snow. I may not see you anymore, But I know you're still around. You've passed on to something great, You're liberated, unbound. Sierra Catalfamo
