It was my privilege to teach with Margaret at Eglinton Public School. Her students and the staff all loved her. She showed us all such a positive and generous spirit, Her warmth, kindness, intelligence and humour made her a welcome team member. Her sense of style was enviable. (I just wish she had passed on the secret of wearing those beautiful high heeled shoes all day at school!) She was so proud of her girls-Sierra and Emma. She loved to be with you and to talk about you when she wasn't. I only wish that Margaret herself could have believed how wonderful she was. My deepest condolences on your loss.

Even though time has passed since we last saw each other, we have such wonderful memories of someone who exuded such warmth and class and humor and elegance. She will forever be in our memories(and we have some wonderful memories - One in particular was when Margaret and I shared a room in Ottawa when we were there for Nella and Jed's wedding). And you, Joe, Sierra and Emma, as well as the rest of Margaret's family, will be in our thoughts and prayers! This is such horribly sad news. Margaret was a lovely friend to me at school, she always spoke to me with such warmth and kindness. We became friends over the years and I often told her I would put myself up for president of her fan club! Margaret was a gorgeous woman -- both inside and out. She will be missed by so many. My heart goes out to the family. With love, Nan Laws

Dear Joe, Sierra and Emma...although we did not get to know Margaret well, through extended family, we want to send you our deepest condolences and are thinking of all of you, keeping you close to our hearts as you journey through this most difficult time of your lives...it is not easy to lose someone so "dear and precious"...may Margaret's memories live in your hearts forever.
I truly admired Margaret's beautiful smile and energy, as we met at Barb and Francois's wedding, and from what I have cherished of Margaret the most was her elegance, as she was a very beautiful person, always smiling.
May God's strenght help to guide your paths and know that Margaret is in the best place she can be, she is now an "Angel" in heaven.
Sincerely, Rosanne, Norm, Matthew and Kailyn.

To Joe, Sierra and Emma; The news of Margaret's death was so very sad. I met Margaret skiing at Alpine and was lucky to ski with her and enjoy a wonderful Lady's Day with her and her dear friend Deb Doyle. Margaret looked so very beautiful in the pink ski suit that we encouraged her to buy that day. My memory will always be of her smiling in that suit. We had so much fun and I remember that she did the race and got totally thrilled with the experience. I will always remember her smile and what fun we had together. I'm so sorry for your loss and hope that this makes you even stronger and closer as a family. God bless you and keep you safe.

I first met Margaret 9 years ago at Eglinton Public School when she was teaching special education and many of her children joined my classroom for the afternoons. She was such a kind, caring, giving person who was always willing to help others; children and teachers alike. We had great times together setting up our classrooms, going out for lunches, taking long walks, and sitting around the pool on warm summer days chatting the afternoon away. She had such wisdom, a radiant smile, and an infectious laugh. I am a better person for knowing her. She has been in my thoughts and prayers and will continue to be. I know there is another angel in heaven. Sierra, Emma, and Joe please accept my deepest sympathies.

We are so very sorry to hear of Madame Catalfamo's passing. We were fortunate to come to know this beautiful, vivacious, teacher at John Wanless Public School. She taught a 4th grade french class full of ten year old boys who were completely and utterly enraptured by this teacher, so full of energy. All we heard about school that year was all about french class and the fabulous Madame Catalfamo! She has inspired our boys and so many families at John Wanless. Our thoughts an prayers are with you at this time. The Hunt Family (Ted-now 15 was a student of M. Catalfamo)

I'm shocked and saddened by the untimely loss of my dear friend. In my first year at U of T, my roommate met Margaret in one of her classes. She said she thought Margaret and I could be good friends. In second year, I met Margaret myself - and we did indeed become very good friends. I was honoured to be a bridesmaid at her wedding. And although I've been living in Japan for a long time, we kept in touch through the years and across the distance. I enjoyed catching up with her (usually poolside) during my annual visits back to Canada. Margaret was a vibrant, loving and intelligent woman, with a generous and pure heart. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. My deepest condolences to the whole family.

Margaret was indeed a special person who radiated such kindness, generosity and caring for others. I had the honour of meeting her at Eglinton Public School where she had taught many of my Extended French students in Grade 4. Her elegance, beauty and sense of style made her stand out in the crowd. She was such a delightful person who easily engaged in conversations with everyone on staff. Her students would often talk about her, using such praise and admiration. As an educator, I am in such awe of the connections she made with her students. She touched them by being open and caring. Eglinton will never be the same and her presence will always be missed.

My most sincere regrets to hear this devastating news. I only knew Margaret in the professional sphere, but I could see her light and spirit in other realms like music. She was very helpful to me in my first year at Eglinton P.S., gently showing me the way. She was dynamic, beautiful beyond repair, both inside and out. Her students were in awe of her and she managed to guide each one with the same love and care she would have shown a family member. Those students and teachers, I'm sure are humbled to have known such a lovely human being. To her children, who I never had the pleasure of meeting: Margaret's shining light, her exuberant smile, laughter, and silent strength will always be a part of you.

I was so sorry to read about Margaret's death. The words in the paper were so true to the person that I knew. Margaret was part of the "Clay Ladies", a group of woman that got together in Frith Bail's converted garage to get our frustrations out by working in clay. Great therapy for hands and minds as we talked about our lives. We laughed with and listened to one and all while creating amazing pieces of art. Our times together with be quite different now without Margaret.
