Dear Beverly, Mark, Brett, and family, my sincere condolences to you all. Your dear Mommy, and my Auntie Marie, was a great friend to our family and a true example of leadership to me. All through the years, every season was marked by our reunions, happy and festive, where all were welcome and encouraged to join in with glea. So I will remember through the association and foundations, the memory of a life of commitment and leadership in our community, and country. Sincerely, Grant Dunbar

Mark, Beverley & Brett, my condolences to you all and your families for the loss of such a wonderful women and mother. I may have lost touch over the years but my memories of your Mum and your incredible family will always be with me. Your mother was one of the few people I felt totally comfortable with growing up and cannot imagine the sadness in not having her around anymore into the future. My thoughts will continue to be with you.

Over the past 21 years that I've been attending Queen's Own Rifles of Canada events with my husband Major (Retired) Norman T.J. McCracken, Maurie's presence always excited me. She was the epitome of what an excellent military wife, neighbour and friend should be. As a result of her smile, the sparkle in her eyes, her ability to always remember people, her willingness to engage in conversation, and her positive attitude she made it delightful to be at the event. About 10 years ago, I reviewed all the QOR publications in our considerable collection and in the collection of Col. and Mrs Hank Elliot, in order to write an article on the women of the Queen's Own and her name and photo are consistently present - she contributed! She was graceful and an excellent role model for the friends of the Regiment. She will be missed and we will remember her.

My sincere condolences to Mark, Beverley & Brett. I have so many fond memories of your Mum's laughter and her guidance from early years on Russell Hill and then as the consummate den mother to our upper school hockey & football teams. She always had a smile and a hello in recent years when I saw her at the B&R. I know she will be missed but her sparkle carries on.
