I just learned a couple days ago of Peggy's death, and wanted to let you know that I became acquainted with her only at the time of my brother's death in 2002(Brother Voncent Burton), when she attended a special service for him and invited me to her home. We had some good times during a couple staying visits I made in the next couple years, and I cherish her memory. I do hope she did not suffer much, although I know that being unable to do what one is accustomed fo doing is difficult. May she rest in peace. Sincerely, Narn Nurton

October6,2010 was a very sad day; we lost a very special aunt and an era that held so many wonderful memories came to an end. Aunt Marg you were a wonderful, outstanding lady. You were like the captain of a ship, so solid and understanding, You were my friend and you were my "mom" esp since 1989. You were only a phone call away for me and my family. I will miss you so much esp the phone calls and your visits. We know you are in heaven and at rest. May God watch over you until we meet again. We love you and miss you. To Margie, Tom, Katrina, Kit and families we are thinking about you esp today. Aunt Marg was very lucky and happy to have you all.I believe she is in a better place and will be another angel for all of us. Love Margie, Maurice, Melissa & Matthew

I express my sincerest condolences to all who have lost the love and friendship of Margaret Martin, to me, Aunt Marg. I was not surprised when I recently learned that Aunt Marg was a recipient of the Order of Canada as she was a great inspiration to many in her life and she will be remembered by all who knew her. Aunt Marg was a constant source of positive influence, love and compassion. My fondest memories of her are of when I spent time with her durring my summer vacations from school as a girl. Though there was a signifigant age gap between us, she was always easy to talk to. I didn't understand at the time why a woman of her age would care to spend time with me, a young, sometimes snotty teenager, but the answer was very simple: love. She loved me and took time to cook, talk, and spend time with me. That's just the kind of person she was. There is another reason I loved her so much and will miss her always and that reason is her long time, unyeilding and loyal friendship with my own dear grandmother. If I didn't know anything about Margaret Martin, her friendship with Susie would be enough to secure a place for her in my heart. Love you always Aunt Marg. Sammy

Peggy and I were best friends for more than 70 years. We talked on the phone every single night and recounted the day’s activities and reminisced about all the "good ole days". We met as very young girls at the School for the Blind in Halifax, NS. Our strong bond was initiated there and never waivered. We were always there for each other, through the good times and bad. I will miss my dear beloved Coady, today and for the remainder of my days. As you enter through the gates of Heaven, be well my dear friend, I will miss you like no other. My evenings will now be filled with fond memories of all the precious times we spent together. Until we meet again, God Bless. Love Susie
