Obituary of Malle Paide

Malle Helga Paide (January 31, 1928 - August 27, 2010) Passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family. Will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by daughter Vivian, son-in-law David Bird, granddaughters Marissa and Alexandra, grandson Daniel, dear friend Bill Kelly, as well as many friends and family in Port Severn, Toronto and Estonia. Born in Estonia, Helga later became a proud Canadian, dividing her time between Toronto and the part of the country that she loved best, Port Severn. Her strong work ethic lasted all of her days and led to a career as a successful business woman, including holding the position of CFO of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario. An elegant and dignified lady, she became mentor, teacher and friend to many throughout her life. Helga's final wish to be able to die at home would not have been possible without the kind and compassionate care provided through the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care; thanks to Dr. A. Kirshen, nurse Dusanka Kalabic, case manager Corona Liscio, and personal support worker Tina Oh. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, August 30. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, August 31 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception. Internment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
