Obituary of Roger Baranowski
BARANOWSKI, Roger Alan
On Thursday, May 27th, 2010 at the young age of 56, Roger said a final goodbye to his wife Kathy (nee Ensor) and two sons Joshua and Zachary. He was surrounded by family and friends when he left this world after a courageous battle with ALS. Diagnosed with the disease in 2007, Roger did not let his illness define him. Travels and journeys with his family and friends, at his computer with coffee by his side and a clever remark not far from his lips, Roger remained true to his spirit to the end. Over the years, Roger was many things to many people - marketer, teacher, counselor, creative, collector, historian, mechanic and wood smith. No matter which side we knew, Roger's personality filled the room as soon as he crossed it's threshold. Roger will be sorely missed by Kathy, Josh and Zach, brother Conrad (Peggy), nieces Diana and Stephanie, mother-in-law Mary Ensor, brother-in-law Bob (Tania) Ensor, niece Lexi, sister-in-law Patti Ensor, nephew Matthew and friends too numerous to count. Roger was predeceased by his mother Vera Miller Plumb and his father Frank Baranowski Jr. As we mourn Roger's passing, we must remember his last words to his son: "Crying is good, laughing is better." Goodbye Roger, safe travels. Roger's family would like to thank the outstanding doctors and nurses at Southlake Regional Hospital ICU for their wonderful care and compassion. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 3. Funeral service will be held in ST. JOHN'S YORK MILLS ANGLICAN CHURCH, 19 Don Ridge Road, Toronto on Friady June 4th at 1:00 p.m., followed by a reception. If desired, donations to "Team Roger" at the ALS Walk on June 6th in York Region (Newmarket), www.walkforals.ca would be appreciated. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
