I am not quite sure how best to express our admiration for the wonderful man that was Roger. From the outset he touched our lives with a honeyed web of delight, within which we happily remain to this day. His death is like the dimming of a bright light, the glimmer of which we know lives in his beautiful sons. Cut short, in the end his life was formed of the stuff of heroes, his battles increasingly fierce. Albeit from a distance, his spirit inspired and gave us all more than should be the share of any man. A nobler heart could scarce be found amidst Arthurian souls. The way he lived was a testament to the vital, funny, kind, generous and wise man that he was. Our lives are richer for having known him, and we are so glad to have been able to call him 'friend'. We celebrate the wonderful memory of him. We toast to that wisdom of beguilement by simple joys, which he showed us. Thank you and good-bye sweet friend. Oh, how much you will be missed! Kathy, Joshua, and Zachary, you are in our hearts. We wish we could be there to give our support, but know that we will be thinking of you. With love and our most heartfelt sympathy and condolences, Maria, Chet, and Siobhan Galpin

I will always remember Roger fondly. As a teacher he was a straight shooter full of wisdom and inspiration. As a person he took challenges in stride and never let them affect his positive outlook on life. My condolences go out to his family and loved ones, specifically his children. I cannot imagine how they feel right now. Roger touched so many lives and is an inspiration to us all. Although his life was cut too short, the quality of it is what will stay with me for years to come. I love you Roger, May you rest in peace

I am truly sorry to hear of Rogers passing. As a student of his at Centennial College I think I speak for all of my classmates when I say how inspiring Roger was to us all in so many different ways, not only as a teacher as we prepared to move forward in the Advertising business, but also despite his illness he would always be there early, and with a smile on his face and a witty remark to greet us. I'm very sorry that I will not be able to attend the services for Roger, but will certainly be thinking of him and his family during this time. I am confidant that he is now the “Chief Bottle Washer” in a better place. We'll miss you Roger, thanks for your memories and inspiration. -Will Gilligan

I worked with Roger in the mid 90's at Robins Sharpe. I was just beginning my career and wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my life. Roger inspired me to do whatever I wanted, as long as I was passionate about it. I learned something new from him every day. He presence in this world will be missed. My condolences to his friends and family.
