Obituary of June Crown
June Beatrice Crown
October 20, 1919 - February 5, 2010
Passed away peacefully at rest, in her 90th year at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto, Friday, February 5th, 2010. Beloved wife of the late Hebert F. Crown, former director of Ontario's ARADA program, and retired Lt. Col, 29th Field Regiment, RCA; beloved mother of Rod and Jerry (Francine), brother Bill, sisters Joyce (deceased) and Dorothy, both of Ottawa, and sisters in-laws Gwen Crown, Ina McMaster and Mary Dix.
June grew up in Ottawa, the much loved daughter of Russell and Beatrice Hamilton, and moved to Toronto following the return of her husband in 1945 at the end of WWII. Affectionately known as "Queenie", June was an active member of her church, volunteered her time to help others, and made the best oatmeal chocolate chip cookies imaginable.
June had an indomitable spirit, a generosity of love and caring for family and friends, and the most remarkable strength facing the challenges of life and her declining health in recent years. A special thanks goes to June's ever-attentive and loving care-givers Lerma Alejo, Nympha Manalang and Marilou Ferrer, and the doctors, nurses and staff at Sunnybrook Hospital.
Mom's smile lit up the world and all around her. Dear Queenie, we love you dearly and you are so dearly missed now.
