I am very sorry to hear of your Dad's death. We worked together for the Ontario Government for many years and we became good friends. I always enjoyed his antics at the annual family Christmas parties that were held. I remember him fondly. I would appreciate hearing when the memorial service is, because I am unable to attend the visitation. I can be contacted at the following email address - sjsturner@rogers.com.

We send our very sincere condolences to your family. I have such fond memories of Fred as my supervisor at M.T.O. Fred was an all around good person, he always dealt with people fairly. I remember how he held my wedding stag at his home and how we enjoyed golf games at the tournaments. He will be remembered by us for many years to come. Sorry we can't attend but our grandson is booked for surgery that day and we have to be in Bracebridge. In sincere sympathy, Dennis & Rose

Growing up in the Annex, my life was affected by the Field clan in many positive and wonderful ways. For several years I was a cub scout in the 27th wolf cub pack, led by Ted Field, and I know that the act of service was supported and encouraged by his father Fred. These were wonderful moments for many boys in the neighborhood. Playing shinny at "Kendal" park, often meant that the Field boys would be there, doing their part to keep the ice clear- obviously taught the power of duty and helpfulness by his father. The Field boys would also create teams and make all "ankle skaters" feel welcome. Many Annex Fall Fairs had Mr. Field, with his huge smile, helping whatever role needed to be filled. I also had the pleasure of delivery the Globe and Mail for several years to their house on Kendal, and whenever I stopped by to collect, I was warmly welcomed and thanked. My wonderful experiences growing up in the Annex are intermingled with many positive memories of the Field clan and Mr. Field. My heart and thoughts are with the family. Tait Luste
