TAIT, Eleanor (nee Raymond) Passed away suddenly at home, leaving her husband Jack (at Sunnybrook Veterans), children Pam (Tom), David (Andrée) and Ruth (Andrew), nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Predeceased by sons John (Sonia) and Jim (Cathie Chartrand). She was a committed community leader, both in Montreal, at Montreal General Hospital as a Board Member and Head of Early Bird Campaigns, at St. Matthias Church in Westmount as head of the Ladies Guild and also as Head of Red Feather Campaigns in Montreal, and later in Toronto. Eleanor was an active member of Grace Church on-the-Hill in Toronto. She was an avid curler at the Royal Montreal Curling Club, and enjoyed extensive travels in the West Indies and Europe. Eleanor was loved deeply by her husband of 68 years, and by all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered, above all else, for her radiant spirit, her warm generosity and sense of fun, touching the lives and hearts of all who knew her. The family wish to give Raveline our heartfelt thanks for her loving care and the sense of fun she shared with Ellie over the last two years, also Tess and Ruby. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in GRACE CHURCH ON-THE-HILL, 300 Lonsdale Road. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Grace Church on-the-Hill (M4V 1X4), or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
