Dear Heinar, Erika, Chris and Erinn Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for the loss of a wonderful wife and mother. Holly and I have so many special memories of times shared with Clare and yourselves in London, Halifax, Toronto and gatherings at the farm house. Clare was always the wind in our sails and the steady hand on the tiller in all of our professional endeavours, bringing her humour and clear insight at the times when it was the most needed. We share your loss and Clare will always stay in our memories with much love and affection. David and Holly

I am so sorry to hear that Clare has finally lost her battle with cancer. She certainly gave it her best shot! I have so enjoyed knowing Clare through the years and send my sympathy to her family. I am leaving for China tomorrow, so am sorry that I will miss her memorial service. I most certainly will give a donation in her memory. I have lots of good memories of our times together.

Dear loved members of Clare's family, It was quite by chance that I saw Clare's beautiful picture in he Globe and Mail the other day, exactly as I knew her at Neuchâtel and travelled with her now so many years ago. In one photograph in my album of that year she and a few other girls are sprawled out on a big hotel bed in Italy, laughing so hard we can hardly stand it. We had a wonderful time. I am saddened at your loss of this very special, gifted and loving person. With time, the pain will ease and the joy of her will fill your hearts; you will hear her voice in your inner ear gently encouraging you, teasing you and comforting you whenever you need her. She was, is, a terrific person. I am currently on the East Coast and will think of you on the 27th, at 2pm. Most sincerely, Judy Crichton

Dear Heinar & family: We are saddened with the passing of your dear wife and mother, Clare. Be assured that we are grieving with you. Clare was a very unique lady, one who stood apart. As neighbours we will not forget her! Her ability to articulate on any topic of interest and her warm and caring invitation to all who approached her captivated people of all ages. You will carry on, not with a full compliment, but with a certain resolve. In our hearts Clare will be watching as we mobilize Ranch hayrides to travel your laneway. We will remember her evaluations of our pond hockey competitions, intense and competitive as she always graded each player’s skills and talent. Purpose to continue your visits to the Ranch and enjoy Dave’s BBQ’d hamburgers and the accompanying jovial jargon of other visitors. We will continue to resonate the Ranch’s indulgence in activities at various venues as they spill across the hills of the 5th Line to your place. While our team will not be complete we will add special finish to every activity. That was Clare Piller. Be assured, Heinar and family, you will not walk alone as you move forward. We are standing with you and we are praying for you. Put your full trust in God. On behalf of Patti, the Rocky Ridge Ranch family and staff. Bruce R. Chapman
