I was very sad to hear of your mother's passing. I knew her when I was at Donalda as a teenager. I am the past Golf Captain this year and was in the process of sending your mom an invitation to our annual tournament and lunch when I learned of her death. We are most aware of the contribution your mom made to the club and that she was our first captain. We wanted to recognize her and wondered if one or both of you would be able to attend the lunch where we intend to commemorate her by re-naming our Junior Girls Trophy as the "Betty Mackinnon Junior Girls Golf Trophy". I did not know any other way to reach you but we sent a card to your mom's home as well. The lunch is on September 1st and we would be very honoured if someone from the family could attend. Please feel free to send me an email or contact me at home at 416 484-6248 or work at 416 314-8011. Sincerely, Deb Stephens

Dear Susan and Jennifer: On behalf of my brothers and my own family, please accept our sincere condolences on you Mom's passing. She was such a wonderful woman and my thoughts have frequently been with her and you and your families over these past months. One of my fondest memories of her is a simply but telling one - on the occasion so many years ago, of my confirmation. She sat behind me during the entire service, in her role as my godmother and and whispered words of encouragement throughout. I always knew that were I ever to need her - she would be there. She was a woman of such grace, elegance and generosity. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Gail
