Obituary of Beverly Bowman

Beverly Anne Bowman (nee Becker) Passed away on Monday, May 4, 2009 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Mrs. Bowman was born Beverly Anne Becker in London, Ontario 56 years ago. She attended Waterloo Oxford DSS in Baden, Ontario and Wilfrid Laurier University, graduating in 1976 with a Bachelor of Business Administration and later received her Certified General Accountant designation in 1988. Following graduation from WLU, Bev moved to Dryden, Ontario to pursue an accounting career. Accounting and business pursuits took her to Toronto where she eventually joined Revenue Canada in 1988. Bev's life will forever be cherished and celebrated by her immediate family including her husband of 24 years, Frank E.P. Bowman, daughters Katrina and Carla and son Kirk, all of Toronto; mother Helen (Walper) Becker of New Hamburg, Ontario; mother-in-law Madeleine Bowman of Waterloo. Loved and missed by her sisters, Fran Becker and husband Joey Tominovich of Maryland, U.S.A., Jane and husband Grant Thompson of Oakville and Mary Lynn Becker of Windsor. She will be missed by sisters-in-law Claire Bowman and her partner Roger Miller of St. Jacobs and Kathryn (Kitty Bowman) Tsang and her husband Hugh Cumming of Waterloo. Adored aunt of Emilee and Allie Tominovich, Alex and Dana Thompson, Allison Atkins and her son Ryan and Alistair and Elliott Tsang. Bev was predeceased by father Wally Becker, father-in-law Howard Bowman, as well as brother-in-law, Donald Bowman. Bev was a member of Fairlawn Avenue United Church in Toronto. Bev was gracious and spirited, witty and giving. She enjoyed the outdoors, music and sharing a good laugh. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and family and looked forward to well-deserved vacations in the Caribbean, South America, and Sauble Beach. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2009. Funeral Service will be held in FAIRLAWN AVENUE UNITED CHURCH, 28 Fairlawn Avenue, Toronto at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2009. A reception will follow at the church. Private family interment.
