Dr. Reynold's was a wonderful man, great Dr. He gave me my FM Diagnoses qualifying me for Disability but woke me up to how real Fibromyalgia is, I came back to him again for follow up and was certified by him to have it. He told me how he travels all over Canada and USA giving lectures to wake up Dr's on how real Fibromyalgia is when nobody else would believe in it.. I didn't either but when I did my own research I realized I've probably had it all my life. Thank Doctor Reynold's your never forgotten. I speak of you often as the man who believed in my pain when nobody else would.

I would like to convey my deepest sympathies to Dr. Reynold's family. He was my rheumatologist for the past few years, supporting me in my application for CPP Disability Benefits and confirming my diagnosis of Fibromyalgia (FM). I know that many patients will suffer the loss of such a respectful, dedicated, kind and compassionate physician. There are so few doctors, still, who believe in the reality of FM I don't know who I will see. There is no one who can take his place. Blessings on you all. Cathy Cooke

Dr Reynolds was a wonderful Dr and person. He will be greatly missed by our family. He took care of me for many years and I was so grateful to have such a caring and skilled Dr. It broke my heart to hear of his passing. He was much respected and as far as I am concerned irreplaceable. A very fine man. I find consolation from the scripture at John 5:28,29. I just had to let you know. Sincere condolences, Lynn Nutt

Dear Mrs. Reynolds and Family, I am so very sorry to hear about my wonderful rheumatologist, Dr. Reynolds passing away on March 18, 2009. I have been a fibromyalgia patient of his since 1996 at Toronto Western Hospital. Always pleasant, Dr. Reynolds helped my pain levels out immensely and always took his time doing the cortisone shots in my knees and the cortisone shots in various trigger points in my body. He was never in a hurry and I had alot of respect for him. His patients were always treated well and this is so important. This is a huge loss for your family, your church and all of the patients Dr. Reynolds saw in his vast medical practice. He talked to me about how much his grandchildren liked to swim in your pool and how great the youngest one was on the computer. I will never find another rheumatologist to replace a very special doctor. My thoughts are with you all during this difficult time. Gail McIndoe Burlington, Ontario

I would like to offer my sincere sympathy to the Reynolds family and wish to express my great sorrow in his passing. I have been a fibromyalgia patient of Dr. Reynolds over the last 17 years and will miss my regular visits to his office. Dr. Reynolds has been a major support system for myself and my family over all these years and will be greatly missed. He was always willing to take the time to discuss family and vacation and make sure he could offer the best available medical treatment. I wish the entire family all the best. It was a privilege to know such a wonderful man.

My heartfelt sympathy and condolences for your loss. I am fortunate enough to have been a patient of Dr. John Reynolds for just over 42 years. He diagnosed me with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis when I was 18-months old. He had just started at Toronto Western as a Rheumatologist when we first met. Dr. Reynolds sent me to Sick Kids but as soon as I was old enough, I came back to him. He has been a constant in my life ever since. His kindness and compassion was there for me through all of the triumphs and tribulations of my disease and my life. I consider myself extremely blessed to have been in his care and know, without a doubt, through my many years with him, that angels do walk among us. He was my doctor, confidant and dare I say friend. He will be cherished in my thoughts and memories and very deeply missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I was so sad to hear about Dr. Reynolds. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. I have been a patient of Dr. Reynolds for only 2yrs, but am so thankful that I had an opportunity to be seen by such a wonderful doctor. I have never been treated better! I have been struggling with fibromyalgia for over 7yrs, and he’s the only reason I am still able to support my family. His knowledge and understanding of FM was so reassuring, and his treatment superb. He was such a gentleman and I enjoyed his quick wit. I was also amazed by his memory! The first time I saw him, he of course pressed my FM tender points. Out of reflex, I grabbed and pushed his hand very firmly after he touched one particularly painful spot. The next year when I came to see him, he did not bother to retest that same spot. How he remembered that I’ll never know! We have truly lost one of the best! I will miss him, and I dread trying to find another specialist. He certainly can’t be replaced. With sincerest regards, Kim Bradshaw

Dear Reynolds Family; I was very saddened to hear of the death of Dr. Reynolds. He was my Rheumatologist for about eighteen years. Always the consummate professional, he had a ready smile and handshake each time I saw him. He always treated his patients with respect and dignity. He never balked at paperwork, although it must have been the bane of his existence. He always involved my family (my husband) in the treatment plans whenever possible. Sometimes in life, we are graced with coming into contact with someone who is a truly special human being--someone with strength and dignity and wisdom who truly lives their inner convictions. Such was the case with Dr. Reynolds. It was no surprise to me to learn that he was Christian, as he conducted himself that way. I was very fortunate and blessed to have had him as my Doctor. I know that you will miss him very much. I just wanted to let you know that he will be missed by his patients, too (if I may speak for them). My condolences go out to you. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, especially during the funeral, as you say goodbye to him. I will not likely be able to attend the funeral but I will be thinking of you. Yours truly, Susan Carr.

It was with a great sense of loss when I heard of Dr. Reynolds death. I was not a patient of his nor did I ever meet him personally but indirectly, Dr. Reynolds had a significant influence on my life. It was in September 1984 and I was newly diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis when I received an invitation from Dr. Reynolds to attend a patient forum. It was organized by The Arthritis Society and the late Dr. Hugh Little along with other prominent Rheumatologists. 25 years have passed since that meeting when I agreed to help organize the Ontario Spondylitis Association with other AS patients under the auspices of The Arthritis Society. I still have the letter and I am still volunteering as an AS patient advocate both on the national and international level. My only regret is that I did not get the chance to thank Dr. Reynolds personally and to tell him how much that invitation had changed my life. To Beverley and the Reynolds family, I wanted to let you know that you have my greatest sympathy, and my heart is truly saddened that we have lost another great, dedicated to patients, Rheumatologist.

I was a patient of Dr. Reynolds for ten years and I know the world has lost not only a good doctor, but a good man. He was very special and I worshipped him. Without his understanding and support for my struggles with Fibromyalgia, I just don’t know how I could have made it this far. Now I don’t know what I’ll do without him. I wish you comfort in your grief and please that know he touched my life and I will always honour his memory

I only met Dr. Reynolds once, but that's all it took to recognize that he was an amazing human being. He was the first person who believed that I was truly experiencing debilitating physical pain. He advocated on my behalf for better pain management, and in doing so he changed my life. I'll never forget Dr. Reynolds.

My deepest condolances to the Reynolds Family: Dr. Reynolds was my fibro dr. since 2004 & I saw him on a monthly basis. He helped me so much & I am very sad at his untimely passing. I loved thru the years of being his patient that we had small chit chat & was the consumate professional & that he loved his family & Shakespeare! We used to joke about him being my pin cushion dr. He will truly be missed. I didnt know until reading this site that Dr.R was truly a God loving man. I know now that he is with our Father in Heaven, Yeshua/Jesus & this is my solace, my shalom. May God's peace (shalom) be with all of you in your time of need. blessings, Rhonda
