Lisa Marker posted a condolence

Thank You to Lori Monteith for calling me and letting me know. I met Dot in 1989 when I was a nanny in Toronto. She helped me get acquainted with the neighborhood, school, children, neighbors and stores in the area. She was a wonderful person. A great listener, friend and advice giver. I loved to listen to her stories about her life. I wish Dot's friends and family God's comfort and peace in the weeks ahead. With sincere Sympathy, Lisa Marker (I have sent donations and cards via Lori Monteith)

Judy Hatcher posted a condolence
Tuesday, March 24, 2009
The Hatcher Family first met Dot in 1973 when our third son was born and she came to care for our older boys while I was in the hospital. That was the beginning of a long friendship that only ended with Dot's death. Dot and we never 'let go'. She stayed with the boys off and on through the years, she made little visits with other children she was keeping, and she came for family dinners. When she visited, I knew that I must sit and be still and simply be with Dot. Sitting still was unusual for me for many years and I always welcomed those times. She told me when my house smelled 'like you own a dog, Judy", and it did. She always wanted to know about the boys and what they were doing and had comments about each of their wives. Beau, Stuart and Ben all loved DOT and proudly presented to her their children. Dot connected me with her other mothers, many of whom I would not have known otherwise, and many with whom I am friends today. She was my family's special treasure, and I will miss her for the rest of my life.
