Joyce and I worked on a bibliographic project on multiculturalism and a book project on anti-racism education when I first joined the faculty at OISE around 1990. Joyce sustained me and our protracted book project (finally published in 1995) with patience and good humour, not to mention the meticulous work she put into checking and re-checking references. Although we haven't had much communication since her retirement, I will always remember her tremendous contributions to OISE and her support of me during those early difficult years. I will miss her!

Dear Ralph: When, only weeks ago, or so it seems to me, I ran into Joyce ( in the Eaton Centre ),seeing her pull an oxygen tank behind her,I was overcome by mixed feelings of sadness at her condition and admiration for her courage and determination. Betty joins me in extending to you our deepest sympathy. Horace
