Obituary of Molly Haldenby

Haldenby, Molly (Muriel Ross) Passed away peacefully in the company of her children at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto on Friday, January 29, 2016. Beloved wife of Douglas Charles Haldenby FRAIC who passed away in 2004, loving mother of Martha (deceased), Rick, David, Jamie and Margot and their partners Rosemary Aicher, Marie Jones, Susan Haldenby, Allan Findlay as well as John Lute. She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren Trevor (Katya), Martha, Perry, Adrian, Jessie, Julian, Maddie, Jamie and Thomas and her great-grandson Wellesley. Molly was born and raised in Brantford, daughter of the Honourable W. Ross Macdonald PC OC CD QC and Muriel Whittaker. She and her beloved sister Esther served as official hostesses during their father's tenure as Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. She attended and later worked at the University of Toronto. Molly dedicated herself to many organizations, in particular the IODE, the Badminton and Racquet Club and St. Paul's Anglican Church. In recent years she has enjoyed the care and attention of the staff from Home Instead, the Hematology Clinic at Princess Margaret Hospital and Belmont House. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2016. A funeral service will be held in ST. PAUL'S BLOOR STREET CHURCH, 227 Bloor Street East, Toronto, on Wednesday, February 3, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the St. Paul's Church Restoration Fund or the Hematology Clinic at Princess Margaret Hospital.
