Gary Stevason posted a condolence

It was the mid-seventies, and I was somehow promoted from computer analyst to supercomputer salesman for Control Data Canada ("the techie who could talk"). Gary Glover was our President. I can remember one day addressing an audience of fellow staff and our esteemed leader, Gary, Gary Glover. I told them how the customer was the real boss of our company, and I reported directly to him. Then Gary Glover, our President reported directly to me, and on down the line. Gary laughed heartily and appreciated what I was really saying. On a big sales trip to Vegas, Gary played the tables and walked away with $600 (almost five grand in today's money). I won $12 - there was certainly no doubt that he was our president. Today I was telling some young computer folks about the 70s computers, and then got surfing for Control Data, and then for Gary Glover. I am still in tears but I am very very happy that he had found a loving wife and enjoyed a full family life - like he deserved. Gary was total class, and we all benefited from his association.

Our deepest sympathies to all. Gary was such a warm, loving person who made an enduring impact on all he met. As a legacy of the Psi U fraternity boys, I have wonderful memories of a special group of men who enjoyed life fully and sustained lifelong friendships. Hoping your loving memories help you through this time.

Gary was the type of leader every young person would want in their life. He coached and challenged all of us in Control Data Canada and led the charge as we worked and played hard in the early days of the computer industry. He taught us that caring about people and customers best interests was Job 1 and that nice guys can be successful. During these times he and Maureen became good friends with Janet and I and our thoughts are with her and all his family. We will miss him. Bruce and Janet

My condolences to the Glover family and especially to Lynn. We lived next 'store' to Gary and Lynn's family on St. Clair Ave from the late 40s to mid 50s. Gary was much older, but Lynn and I played together. I have fond memories of Gary and Lynn's parents, Bill and Margery Glover and of their paternal grandparents Mr and Mrs Glover, who lived in the apartment below. The Glovers were very kind to my family; I expect that Gary embodied the same qualities. Harvey Starkman, Toronto

God Bless Maureen and her family and the whole of the Glover family. Ted and I were part of Maureen and Gary's lives for all of those 34 years plus, and they were extremely interesting. Gary was one of the most important conversationalist that I ever met, I have always been known as an excessive talker, when Gary was around, I preferred to listen as I always learned something, many good talks around their and our dining room. Will miss you forever. Love you Patti Barrett, All My Love.xoxoxoxo

Dear Maureen we were saddened to hear of Gary’s passing. It was our privilege to make your acquaintance when we became your neighbors and friends over 20 years ago. We cherish the evenings filled with conversation and laughter with both of you. Gary was a gentleman of great wit, charm and sensitivity. We will miss him while we appreciate the chance to have shared a little time with him. You and the family are in our thoughts and we wish you much solace during this period of grief and loss.

Condolences to Maureen and family. Barb and I both knew Gary - I enjoyed Gary's friendship at the ex-IBM Ski Days (Gary was an IBMer for I think a day). Barb used Gary's company for ergonometric assessment when she was a nurse at CIBC. And it was fun meeting you Maureen at Auberge Porte Rouge in Tremblant

I first met Gary Glover when I joined Control Data Canada in 1971 or 1972. He was the President at that time and I had joined the Ottawa Office after moving from Montreal. We spent many happy years, 100% Clubs some 14 together. I remember Gary was a CFL official either linseman or refree or both I guess. He was a gentleman, a player in life, daring and fun loving in many ways but always respectful. He made time for everybody those at the bottom and those in the boardroom. The world is a little sadder place without him. There are hundreds of people in Canada, USA and throughout the world that he touched. To the family I am truly sorry for your loss. Peter Landry Halifax, Nova Scotia.
