Dear Allen & Family, I had wanted to be present at the Mass of the Resurrection for dear Sallee, perhaps to concelebrate. Unfortunately, I have been hit with a nasty cold and flu bug - sore throat, runny nose, raspy cough, watery eyes, pain all over, and am feeling quite ill. Sorry that I will be unable to be with you to celebrate Sallee's life and cheer her way to the eternal life promised by the Risen Jesus. I will celebrate Mass for her and the Baigent family as you grieve her separation from you here on earth. She loved her family very and did my best to bring her a smile. She impressed me with her character and good spirit, always ready to respond to anyone in need. Her faith was precious to her, especially in her love of the Eucharist. She will have begun her new life with God in joy and peace. In the following days, I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. So sorry not to be with you on Friday. In the Risen Jesus Christ, with love, Neil Hibberd, c.s.b.

To Sallee's family: Dearest Sal, I was thinking today of my very first day at St. Joseph's- and yours- I was young, a country girl, and totally unused to scary nuns. We met, and with Helen, and by night, you couldn't have pried me out of there. Our lives were deeply entwined for several years, and incredibly with never an argument or disruption in our relationship. We grew into adulthood and then I left for several years and returned with a family of eight. And the day I moved in, you were there. You are so central in my heart, as you have always been. I thank God for bringing you into my life. Kathleen Cahill Dunphy

So sorry to read of your Mother's death. She was a great lady. My parents and ourselves were friends of your parents at the Bahamian Club for years. My parents shared their love of tennis and the stock market with your parents. Dad and your Dad shared many financial sections of the Globe & Mail over the years. My mother recently celebrated her 99th birthday. Jim and Sharon Sloss, Gore Bay, Manitoulin Island, On.

I remember Sallee from sharing space in your house on Inglewood, during my 2nd year of College. Wow, so many years since and I have often thought of the Baigent family wondering how everyone was/is doing. Sallee always had a great smile, time for everyone - very patient even when things seemed to be falling apart around. A beautiful lady with a wonderful heart. Thoughts and prayers going out to your family at this difficult time.

It has been a few Years since Sallee was active at our club, but she is remembered fondly by many who enjoyed her friendly participation. We knew her as a neighbour whose back yard on Inglewood was back to back with ours and whose children knew ours. We remember her as patient kind and thoughtful.
