Obituary of Joan Elsie Walsh

WALSH, Joan Elsie (nee Sullivan) Passed away, peacefully at home, in her 86th year, on Sunday, December 20, 2015. Beloved mother of Susan (Peter McPhedran), Patti (David Forster) and Marc (Marianne). Adored and respected Grandma Joan to Neil (Brenda), Kevin (Emily), Alison, Paul, Caroline, Rocco and Anthony. Beloved Gigi of Keira. Predeceased by her husband Alan, sister Peggy and brother Michael. Joan's legacy is her family and her appreciation of history and the arts. Bookending her primary career as a wife and mother was an early career in the insurance industry and her many satisfying years as an educational interpreter at Black Creek Pioneer Village. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22nd. A funeral Mass, celebrating Joan's life, will be held at BLESSED TRINITY CHURCH, 3220 Bayview Avenue, on Wednesday, December 23rd at 1:00 p.m. A reception to follow.
