AGOSTINO (GUS) PUOPOLO After a very brief and very brave battle with cancer, Gus passed away peacefully at the age of 58 on Monday, December 7, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Gus was the wonderful and adoring husband of Catherine. Gus' greatest joy and pride were his awesome children Michael and Mary Kate, as he was an amazing Dad. Gus treasured every moment with Catherine, Michael and Mary Kate. He was predeceased by his son John Augustine. Predeceased by his father Raimondo Puopolo, Gus was the devoted and loving oldest son of Carmela. Gus loved and cared for his four brothers and he was the best brother-in-law and "Uncle Gus" to all his nephews and nieces. He is sadly missed by Severino and Gloria Puopolo and their children Carmela Watts (Richard) and their son Arthur, Raimondo and Natalie; Tony and the late Kella Puopolo and their children Raimondo (Nicole), Joseph, Carmelina and Domenica; Lorenzo and Luisa Puopolo and their children Carmen and Marina; Luciano and Johanna Puopolo and their children Raimondo and Carmelo. Gus was a very caring son-in-law to Eleanor Mooney. He is sadly missed by Claire and Jeremy Tyrrell and their children Andrew (Katie), Emily and Graeme; Carole-Anne Mooney and her children Jennifer and Connor Reid; Mark Mooney (Francine) and his children Jack and Meredith. After 30 years, Gus retired as a TTC Chief Supervisor in January 2015. Both on and off the job, he had a hardworking ethic and always treated everyone with respect and care. Gus was always fun loving, kind and extremely thoughtful. He loved to make everyone laugh and was loved by all who met him. All his family and friends are extremely heartbroken by this unexpected loss. The family wishes to thank the following doctors and their respective health care teams at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Palliative Care who took care of Gus: Dr. Chow, Dr. Moore, Dr. Wynnychuck, Dr. Khana and Dr. Bennett. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9th and on Thursday, December 10th. Please Note - additional parking is available at St. Cuthbert's Church on the south side of the funeral home, and street parking is also available. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 11th at 10:30 a.m. in ST. ANSELM'S CHURCH, 1 MacNaughton Road at Millwood Road. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
