Obituary of Patricia Lute
PATRICIA MARY LUTE
Mother, Wife, Teacher, Nana
It is with great sadness that the family of Pat Lute announce her sudden passing on Friday, December 4th as a result of a brain aneurysm. Survived by her loving husband Graham, sons Timothy and wife Sue, Jonathan and wife Jill, sisters Libby Horton (Gary) and Cathy Taylor (Jack). Treasured middle daughter of the late William and Marguerite Darbyshire. Pat was exceedingly proud of her sons and totally devoted to her grandchildren; Kara, Lexi, Charlie, Addie and Frankie. And she adored her beloved golden retriever, Tess.
Pat was born in Toronto (Leaside) on August 13, 1946 and married her high school sweetheart Graham, the boy next door (77 steps away). They were married for 48 years and as she often said through the years, they were great partners, living and raising their family in Leaside.
Pat was a totally selfless and positive spirit. She had a passion for helping others, providing love to the many she touched. She was a gifted and nurturing elementary and nursery school teacher, a servant to the mission of Leaside United Church and an inspiration to her family and friends. Pat was a lifelong learner who became fluent in French as a result of the 4 years she and Graham lived in Vevey, Switzerland. Pat loved gardening, waterskiing, cheering for the Jays and all the magic of cottage life at 12 Mile Lake in Haliburton, Ontario .
In Pat's own words just a few days ago, she said "I've never been happier in my life."
The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9th. A funeral service will be held at LEASIDE UNITED CHURCH, 822 Millwood Road, Toronto at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 10th. If desired, in lieu of flowers, a donation to Leaside United Church specifically for Refugee Resettlement (in memory of Pat Lute) would be greatly appreciated.
