Obituary of Robert Chesney

DR. ROBERT CHESNEY 1930 - 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Robert "Bob" Chesney on Monday, November 30, 2015. Bob was born in Portstewart, Northern Ireland and spent his formative years on the family farm "Balnafie" overlooking the Bann River Valley. Upon completing his Medical degree at Trinity College Dublin, he immigrated to Canada. Bob met Sue, the love of his life, while skiing in Banff, Alberta and in 1964 they married in her home town of Ingham, Australia. The newlyweds settled in Toronto where he earned his specialization in Radiology from the University of Toronto. Upon graduation, he joined North York General Hospital as a Staff Radiologist and later was a founding partner of York Radiology Consultants. Throughout their life together he and Sue enjoyed the rural life at their log cabin in Oro-Medonte. Bob was predeceased by Sue in January 2015 and is lovingly remembered by his children John (Alexandra), Alison (John Lakich), and Robert (Erica), and grandchildren Grant, Regan, Nolan, Campbell, Fiona and Hannah. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) for a memorial service to take place at 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 5th.
