To Gil's family, We wish to express our deepest sympathy at the passing of Gil. Sorry we missed the notice about the funeral. Gil was a terrific neighbour and friend to us. He was always cheerful and full of humour bringing a bit of sunshine to the families around us especially with his tomatoes and heartfelt laughters. His presence will be greatly missed.

Hello Lynda, Rick and Susan, I saw the notice about your Dad in the Globe & Mail and thought I would send a note. May I express sympathy to you all, from my brothers and me. Since I read the notice, I have been reminded about how funny your Dad was, how he would say the most outrageous things with an absolutely straight face or play a piece on the piano, with the top note of the melody a half-tone too low and then look astonished that it didn't sound right. And your Mom would be worried that anyone who heard him would think that he really couldn't play. I also remember all those birthday parties at the Carleton Club Children's Christmas Party just before Christmas. We also used to make the rounds of the neighbourhood on Christmas morning to see what Santa brought to everyone (June Salmon, Pam Coleman, Joanne Kerr and myself). They are great memories! I know how hard it is to lose your parents. I think of mine all the time and I know you will be thinking of yours evermore. We certainly have been lucky to have had such great parents who have left us with such wonderful memories. I hope the service goes well and will truly be a celebration of his life.
