I worked for Mike for four years at Manchester Business School and knew Brenda and the girls too so I know what a huge hole will be in their lives now, although they will be pleased that he isn*t suffering any more I will always treasure our time together he truly was a lovely lovely man

I am saddened to hear the loss of Mike. As an MBA student in the late 80's, I took a Marketing course with Mike while he taught at York University. He was energetic and passionate, and always greeted everyone with a wide bright smile. He will be missed dearly.

Mike was a dear friend and colleague who will be much missed by all who came into contact with him. His professional integrity was always remain as the highlight of the enduring memory I have of him. All who came into contact with Mike could count on him for taking a stand on academic issues that always kept the welfare of students at the front and center of his concerns. Mike never engaged in small "p" academic politics, making his stand on issues that more valuable. At a personal level, I will miss his whimsical sense of humour and the chuckles that accompanied his wry observations on academic life. Meetings with Mike were always a pleasure, one that I looked forward to and will miss. He made light of his illnesses, though he was always aware that his life would be cut short. JOE

It was such a shock and such bad news to learn of Mike's recent passing. He was a great colleague and a great person to work with, always in a good mood and always very helpful for teaching in our various executive programs. When not occupied with work, we enjoyed great conversations about travel and working overseas and about academic life in general. He will be sorely missed by all of us who knew him and worked with him. My condolences and best wishes to Brenda and all the members of Mike's family. Unfortunately we will be out of town net week and unable to attend the services for MIke.

Mike will be very missed by all the people who knew and loved him. I was his secretary for four years in Manchester and I can say he was a true gentleman - always cheerful, polite, and was so proud of his family I still can't believe I will never hear his voice again - but have so many happy memories of the time we spent working together.
