Obituary of Francis Fay
FAY, Francis Xavier, JD QC, 74, of Toronto, Ontario, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, August 28th at Bridgepoint Hospice Care in Toronto .
Frank was a brilliant trial lawyer, successful Ontario Supreme Court judge and highly respected advisor to his legal peers. Frank's passions involved writing, reading, politics, sailing & the local Toronto sport teams. Frank took immense pleasure in educating his friends & family on his eclectic opinions and insightful thoughts on the books/articles he had read, the current legal proceedings making the headlines and of course the local & international news stories from around the world. Frank was also a devoted Catholic who spent time early in his life at the seminary as he explored and followed his passion for Religion and God. Frank is at peace now with his legacy left behind for his family and friends to carry on both the learnings and passions that each of them have taken from his extra ordinary life.
Frank is survived by his wife Loni of 12 years, sons Jamie & Patrick, daughter Cindy, stepson Jesse, stepdaughter Monica and many loving grandchildren and extended family. The family would like to thank everyone that has emotionally and physically supported Frank during his battle with cancer.
The family will receive friends at a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, September 2nd at 10:30am in OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP, 78 Clifton Road, Toronto. There will be a short reception following the service inside the church where friends and family can gather to share their stories and memories of Frank with one another.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymilesnewbigging.com.
