I was very saddened to learn of June's death. She was the driving force behind a new program in 1961 encouraging student dietitians from universities across Canada to take part in a summer employment plan whereby we gained on-the-job experiences leading up to our graduation as dietitians. Several of us did sign up after graduation and had dietetic careers of varying lengths in the Army. The success I feel was largely due to June's winning personality and leadership skills.
