My fondest memory of my dear friend Jane is when she volunteered to help me find a Christmas gift for my new girlfriend at the time (now my wife, Deb) a few years ago. I told her that we needed to find "the" perfect gift for my new love and it had to be absolutely spectacular. In addition, my tradition was to also fill Christmas stocking with individually wrapped little gifts and have the stocking hanging from the fireplace at her home so that when she woke up, there would be even more surprises to open. But the words that came out of my mouth next...made Jane smile from ear to ear "And by the way Jane...money is no object for my girl Deb"! boom...so off we go to Yorkdale Mall and with Jane in the lead (me barely keeping up with her long strides and excitement) we hit all the high end stores like Holt Renfrew and David's Shoes. As many of you know, Jane had exquisite taste and a good eye for unique gifts. I never felt so more relaxed knowing that I had my friend Jane to bounce off gift ideas. She was ever so patient as we went through racks and racks of clothes in Lululemon; smelled countless perfume bottles; looked at dozens of dresses and shoes. When we finally settled on a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes from David's; Jane could hardly contain her excitement and once we got to the restaurant for our well-deserved lunch; she quickly took them out of the box to show all the diners the expensive red soled shoes her friend bought his new girlfriend. Of course it nearly caused a stampede of women shoppers clamoring over our table to get a look at the black pumps that cost over a $1,000. Jane was once again smiling from ear to ear...she loved the attention we caused. We would often remember that day and we smile and chuckle to ourselves and of course every year from then on; we would march to Yorkdale for our annual Christmas shopping for Deb. Unfortunately on our last Christmas shopping trip last year, the mall was too busy for us to park and we decided to just go for lunch and catch up. It was then that I truly learned of Jane's illness and she shared with me her battle with cancer. I'll never forget those moments with Jane in the mall and I will never forget my friend Jane. Thank you for being by my side when times were tough for me. My life was made just that much better, in having you as my friend.

Dear Margie, Buffy & James: I recently learned of Jane's passing, from close friends in Woodstock, and hearing the news has made me feel a significant sense of loss. That being said, it has renewed rich memories of our times together, your family, visits to Woodstock, and Sand Lake. These recollections are some of my oldest and fondest. Please accept my condolences and know that my memories of Jane, and your family, continue to be a happy presence in my life. Warm regards, Phil

I did not know that Jane was ill and just informed this week of her passing. I enjoyed seeing pictures of her grandchild on Facebook and now know how important it was for her to visit Scott out west. I am sorry I could not be at her memorial as I am sure it would bring back so many wonderful memories of not only Jane but how important the entire Sedgwick family was in my life. I will truly miss Jane and know how big this void will be iin the Sedgwick family she leaves. My sincere condolences.
