Prof. Molinaro introduced me to Petrarch among many other literary greats, in the early 70s. He was a gentle, unassuming learned man who spoke with clarity and passion. Later, he guided me in the writing of my thesis for a Masters degree with the thoughtfulness and insight of a very fine teacher. Upon reflection, I hope to have exhibited some of those qualities throughout my own teaching career. Sincerest condolences to his family. May he rest in peace. Raffaella

i am the daughter of the late Samuel and Nancy (Bartello) Genise. It would be fair to say that the Molinaro Family were my father's best friends. Julio came to visit with Sam often as they both enjoyed philosophical discussion in the purest form of the Italian language ., and my father had been an operatic tenor in the 1920s . Julio and Matie were such a handsome couple and each very successful in their chosen vocation., and proud parents of Juliette and Paul. I was also privileged to know older brother Frank who became a very successful attorney in Washington, D.C.. The elder Mr. Molinaro had a
barber shop on Bathurst Street in the 1940s , working hard to provide for a wife and five children.......a truly successful immigrant story. Frank was very diligent about keeping in touch with the Genise Family when he relocated to D.C.
I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to Juliette and Paul, and their respective families at this time.

I had the pleasure of being in his Renaissance Epic Poetry class at the University of Toronto. He made the poetry live for his students. He also shared many personal stories about the war. In fact, this past weekend, I mentioned his name as I toured an exhibit about the Internment of Italians during the war. I wish to extend my heartfelt sympathies to his family.
