Doug was a cultivated man and a gentleman. His most memorable quality was his sense of humour.I always enjoyed joking with him on the deck at the Toronto Lawn.He much preferred singles to doubles play, and for that reason his old geezer contemporaries did not often get him drawn into our circle of matches. This was our loss, and we all regret his passing. Bob MacIntosh

Doug was a fixture at our home on Talbot Street during his time in London. He and our mother, Libby Murray, were great friends and worked in many capacities together at The London Little Theatre (aka The Grand Theatre) loving (almost) every minute of it. Whether running lines for George and Martha in Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf (or another production) or having cocktails by the pool with a cast of friends - a great time was had by all. It was a joy to have had The Pleasure of His Company. With sadness, Martha Murray and Alison (Murray) Talbot no reply necessary

Dear Doug: What a very special friend, with a great sense of fun and dedication to the arts. Theatre and music were the areas that we shared. As a valued Member of the Board of Directors of CLASSICAL CABARET, he wrote and hosted a musical tribute to E. Pauline Johnson in 1993. Conversation with Doug was always vibrant and challenging. He so wanted to improve his skills at the keyboard. While I am unable to attend the August 21 memorial service, I will be present in spirit, along with our mutual friends, Michael Noon, Bill Orlowski and Nora Mizen. I was very rich in Doug's friendship - he was a very special man. Ruth Morawetz
