Obituary of Eva Davidson

EVA CAROL "EVE" DAVIDSON (nee Clarke) Peacefully at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, May 21, 2015 in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late Ken Davidson. Loving mother of Bill Davidson (Rita), Jeff Davidson (Rose), Kimberly (Peter) Allen and sister of June Barron. Predeceased by her siblings Helen and Lloyd Clarke. Fondly remembered by seven grandchildren, Andrea and Gordon Davidson, Jason (Erin) and Stephanie Davidson, Hayden, Lindsey and Spencer Allen, and two great-grandchildren, Connor and Mara Davidson. Eve was born in Saskatoon and raised in Regina. At 16 she left for U of T where she completed her BSW. In Toronto she met Ken and they were married in 1955 and settled in Winnipeg. She worked at the YWCA and became President and in her tenure led the building of a state of the art YWCA facility. That time was full of raising children, social activities and forming lasting friendships. The family moved to Toronto in 1974, where she later became the administrator at Timothy Eaton Memorial Church. She was highly respected for her people skills and willingness to take on diverse and challenging assignments with tact and humour. Eve and Ken retired to BC, but this chapter was sadly cut short by Ken's untimely passing. Eve returned to Toronto to be close to family and friends and spent many hours volunteering for the church. Her passions included bridge, supporting her beloved Blue Jays, jazz, travelling, a special fondness for desserts and watching her grandchildren grow. Granny was their biggest fan and loved to attend their varied activities. Family was everything to Mom and we will miss her. Thanks to the great team at Sunnybrook ER and ICU and a special thanks to Liza. The funeral service will be held in TIMOTHY EATON MEMORIAL CHURCH, 230 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto (M4V 1R5), on Monday May 25 at 11:00 a.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the church or to a charity of your choice.
