Mr. and Mrs. Martin hired my mother when she arrived in Toronto from Berlin Germany to be the nanny to twin daughters, Lisa and Linda, when they were about 8 years old. The girls taught my mother to speak and read English. The Martins were very good to my mother and I thank them for doing so. My mother is now 74 years old and I would love to see Lisa and Linda meet my mother, Karin, again after all of these years. I am sorry for the passing of Mr. and Mrs. Martin.

Thank you for the opportunity you gave to my mother when she arrived in Canada in 1957. She has told me so many stories of being the nanny to your daughters, Lisa and Lynda. I have a photograph, taken at Christmas with the young girls in velvet dresses and with a dog at their side. I would love to speak with them 321-750-2495 or email: lawnurse59@yahoo.com. We are sad and sorry to learn of Mrs. Martins passing.

Lisa,
You may remember me from my days spent at your home while I was a member of the Toronto Police Force. I was assigned to a security detail for your Dad around 1972 when he had issue with some Montreal gang members that he had Martinized. At the time I remember that you were working at Air Canada as a flight attendant.
I was reminiscing to one of my friends today about your Dad and casually pecking at my computer and put your parents' names into Google and I was sad to then discover that your Mum had recently passed away.
I often think about your Mum as I now reside very close to a property on Weston Road with a small lake where your parents frequently stayed during the summer months. Your Mum was easy to remember as she always reminded of the late Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, the Queen Mother, she was just as Regal and as well, ever so generous and nice!
I spent some months working for your Dad and as well I spent a considerable time at your home being entertained by your Mum. I was even entertained by you on at least one occasion when you threw stones at a neighbour's house trying to scare crows, but inevitably breaking the neighbor's window. Fortunately I was able to escape as it would not have looked good to have had your Dad's security officer involved in your escapade!
Please accept my condolences on the passing of your Mum, a Real lady!
Warm regards,
Bill

Lisa and Lynda: I read your mother's death announcement in the Globe & Mail. It is fifty years since you were in my class at St. Clements school. I remember you both as happy girls, a joy to teach. You mentioned that your mother was a member of The Toronto Garden Club. I do remember meeting her. One Christmas she gave me a beautiful arrangement of red carnations, white twigs and evergreens that she had made. Your father used to drop you off at school and I also remember that when you were late you would say it was his fault because you had been ready on time!
My sympathy to you both.
Sincerely,
Patience Vincent 905 823-5207
