Obituary of Maureen Rourke

Surrounded by her loving family, husband Ken Lee and children Ryan and Meaghan, Maureen passed away peacefully on February 13, 2015 after a most courageous battle with cancer. Maureen is survived by her parents, Alanna and Patrick Rourke, brother Michael (Nathalie), and sisters Jacquie (Steve) and Andrea (Gary), who were by her side in her final days. She will be forever missed by her much-loved nephews and nieces, and by her many wonderful cousins, aunts and uncles. Maureen is also survived by her mother- in-law Norma Lee (late Peter), brother-in-law Gerry, and sister-in-law Michele Smith (Bruce). Throughout her illness, Maureen was grateful for the kindness and support of her many friends, colleagues, and the Hockey Moms. Maureen graduated from the Sacred Heart School of Montreal ('78) and from Western University Kings College ('83). She enjoyed a successful career in public relations at Hill and Knowlton, and IBM. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2-4 AND 6-9 P.M. on Tuesday, February 17. A funeral service will be held in ST. ANSELM'S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1 MacNaughton Road, Toronto on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 10:30 a.m. The family wishes to thank the very caring medical team at the Odette Cancer Centre and Sunnybrook Hospital.
