Dear Tom, David, Joanne, Ginny and your families.
Leslie joins me in sending our deepest condolences to you and Barbara's entire family. We were shocked and saddened to read that our beautiful Barbara Clarke had passed. We are sorry to have missed Barbara's funeral today at Timothy Eaton. Barbara was always an active volunteer, giving of her time and talents to enriched the lives, the causes and communities she touched and loved so much.
As luck would have it, I 'bumped' into cousin Barbara at The Granite Club, on October 8th, 2014. Barbara looked as glamourous as ever! Just as I had always remembered her. I asked her to give my warmest best wishes to my cousin Tom and family. She was still driving, which I thought was so amazing!
Our love and sympathies go out to Tom, his children and grandchildren.
Sincerely,
cousin Judy Elizabeth Clarke, Leslie Colbeck and family

Dear Uncle Tom, David, Joanne and Ginny. It is with great regret that Terrie and I will be unable to attend todays service to honour such a remarkable woman who will remain in our hearts and thoughts forever. As happens, in our neck of the woods, weather and road conditions have stopped us from travelling to Toronto on such an important day. Auntie Barb will be remembered for her warmth, humour and kindness as well as her never ending energy to tackle whatever was needed or to help whoever needed her. Our deepest condolences to your families for the passing of such an amazing wife, mother and grandmother and a woman I was privileged to have as my aunt.

Dear Ginny, Dave, Jamie, and Kristy We are deeply sorry for your loss. Over the years we have heard many great stories about your "Granny" and how much she meant to your family. A woman with so much to give through her life certainly touched many. Granny will always be with you all through the beautiful ways in which she helped make the Bates family so special! Remembering her fun-filled memories and vivacious personality remind us of an Annie Dillard quote:"The way we live our days, is the way we live our lives." Granny lived a very special life and we hope you remember the special times during this very difficult one. With much love, Jim, Peter, Helene, and Katie

Dear Tom, Leslie and I were saddened to hear of Barb's death. We have fond memories of both of you, beginning when we joined the Granite and you and Barb invited us to play with you in Mixed Curling. From there we built affinity for Barb. Later at Ladies we saw again the affection and sincerity she offered all. You will miss her tremendously and we will remember her fondly. George and Leslie

Dear Uncle Tom, Dave, Ginny and Jo to hear of your terrible loss. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the funeral because I am abroad but my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Auntie Barb was the most amazing person with a fantastic laugh that could only make you smile and join in on the laughter. Hands down she threw the best Christmas parties ever! Every time I hear "Proud Mary" I remember dancing up a storm in your basement of that house that had the steepest stairs ever. I cannot think of a better person to be named after than Auntie Barb and I was always proud to be her namesake. I think my late Mom ( Barb's sister Jean ) made a good choice. Paul and I and our son's Kyle, Sean and Christian send our deepest condolences.

It is with profound sadness connected to kindness as I look back to The Granite Club.....I offer my heartfelt condolences to The Clarke Family. It has been many years since my employment at The Granite Club....recalling hearts of wonderful people, The Granite Club will surely miss. My hospitality obligations be, to create a friendly reception and treatment of guests receiving personal service on behalf of Mrs. Clarke at the Club. Her social status above all, was noted many times for her effort, working energetically devotedly, accomplished every function while persevering attention she was most proud of. Winter was especially a great time for The Clarke family at the Club with beginning of Curling season she loved, known ability comradery with new and old friends, generate interest which played an important customary role to promote events, many functions, associated groups of privilege speakers to the Granite Club Luncheon's while engaging interests to all Club Members. Mrs. Clarke after many ceremonious addresses and formal greetings would communicate between kitchen help and servers....always exceeding excellence with great interest toward staff. To you Mrs. Barbara Clarke.....I never had the appropriate opportunity to say goodbye but, I want you to know how much of a honor, privilege it was knowing you, your family, friends, that have left an impression visible sign to draw memory. You are loved by many especially those remembering you today....till we meet again....Joseph.

We were so sorry to hear of Barb's passing. Rarely did we go to the Granite club and not see her as she was on her way to a meeting or sporting event, always taking the time to say hello ask catch up. She had a great smile and sense of fun which we so enjoyed, especially at Point Au Baril, when she was in costume for yet another Royal party. Thinking of you all with love.
