Dan has always had a special place in my heart. Though Dan was an introverted man in many ways, he was incredibly curious about people and their experiences. He always made me feel welcome in the Burtnick family and quietly would ask me about how I am adjusting to Canada and wanted me to share my thoughts and feelings about being in Toronto, a city he knew so well and loved so much.
