Dear Carina Hein and I are so sad about your great loss. I have very many good memories about your Dad my Cousin. When we were young we spent many Happy summers together with your Dad and Carolien and Etty, as both our families spent their Summers in Bosch en Duin, my grandmother had a swimmingpool and we spent many happy hours in the Pool, no filter system in those days, we would have a clean Pool for about two weeks and then there was Algea green stuff floating, but we would clean it off, and very happily swam. But then the pool would be emptied and we would have fresh clean water Ice cold mind you. We had many super summers together. Then we were married, Immigrated to Canada, and we saw your Dad back again at his Wedding to your Mum Eileen in Montreal. And then we did not see them until they moved to Toronto to be closer to you and your Family. We have had a lot of fun together. Dear Carina, Many years ago, more than fifty, when my late husband, Eric, and I were members of the Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club we met your parents who loved to race their boat.....at least the skippers loved racing. As I remember your mother and I preferred to watch the races. It was at this time that we developed a devotion and admiration for your Mum and Dad. As years progressed Eric became more involved at the club, our family increased and life was busy. We moved to Ontario twenty-three years ago and it is here that Eric died three years ago. When I read about your Dad all those happy memories of your parents and especially your Dad flowed back. This is being sent to give you some consolation that he was remembered with fondest thoughts.
