Obituary of Bruce Cudmore
Bruce Edward Cudmore
August 10, 1949 - December 6, 2014
Bruce passed away, peacefully at home, surrounded by family after a dignified and courageous battle with cancer. He was a generous and kind man who was dedicated to his family and friends. Bruce will be forever missed by his wife of 41 years, Julie (nee Hayward), daughters, Lindsay and Joanna, brother, Dr. Christopher Cudmore, mother, Edna Cudmore of Burlington, Ontario, mother-in-law Mary Sanders, and brothers-in-law Jim (Nancy), Bob (Lesley), and Paul (Ann). Bruce was a special uncle to Rodney (Yanna), Emily (Jonathan), Laura, Graeme, and Leah.
Bruce spent most of his professional life as a principal of EDA Collaborative Inc. along with partners and friends Patrick Li and Ted Muller. Throughout his career Bruce had the pleasure to work with many outstanding professional colleagues and clients.
Bruce enjoyed good food, fine wine and lively conversation with family and friends. He had a passion for cars and enjoyed his Saturday early morning drives in his old SL. He also enjoyed travelling, cross-country skiing with Gerry and Ted, and an appreciation of good design. Bruce's love of life, sense of humour, and positive attitude will always be remembered.
Many thanks go to Dr. Susanna Cheng, Nesan Bandali, Nahid Janmohammed, and Dr. Joshua Wales for their fine care and humanity helping Bruce through a difficult illness.
The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 11. A celebration of Bruce's life will take place on Friday, December 12 at 1:30 p.m. in LEASIDE UNITED CHURCH, 822 Millwood Road. A reception will follow at the church. If desired, memorial donations to the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by his family.
