I had the privilege and pleasure of working with Bruce. His talent, intelligence, sense of humour, and kind gentle noble character will be forever missed. But his professional legacy will continue to guide and influence the field as his knowledge, advice and lessons are passed on to the next generation of planners and landscape architects. My deepest condolences to the family.

A true nobleman, set great examples for life and for the profession.
You taught what book and school can not offer by the way you live, the way you perform duties, the way you encourage people and always stay positive.
To my lifetime guidance, rest in peace and long live the spirit.

Dear Julie, Lindsay and Johanna, It was with a great deal of sadness that we received the news of Bruce's death. We hadn't realized he had been sick. However, we do want you to know that our love for you is strong and that we will be thinking of you, especially tomorrow as you gather with family and friends to celebrate the life of a man we liked and respected very much. His eyes twinkled with a keen sense of humour. His ready smile was always genuine. We always enjoyed our visits at family reunions. Because of his sense of humour, we suspect that as a Dad, he could embarrass you girls from time to time. And, Julie, we know you will treasure the memories of his love for you and the friendship you so obviously shared. God bless you all! Much love from Tim and Judy

We remember Bruce from the University of Toronto. Sheila was a student and Jim was a colleague. He was always very professional but perhaps the first word that comes to mind is his compassion for students. We have known several people who worked with him at EDA and the same words were repeated by all of them - kind, compassionate, helpful. Bruce was a quiet person but he made a difference in this world and to the profession.

Bruce was one of my room mates in our bachelor pad in the early 70's. He was a kind and gentle man who took our kidding about being the rookie and lousy cook in great style...later , we ran into each other as professionals when we contracted his firm to do work for the new Cancer Centre at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga. I know he will be sorely missed by family, friends and colleagues. Sincerely, Wayne Fyffe aka "Barney"

Lots of memories from those old days were relived about 10 years ago when we had Townhouse Reunion at my cottage. I was very sad to read about his death. He was a kind man with a great sense of humour which more than offset his lack of cooking skills when he lived with us!!
