Taylor, John Gordon July 12, 1929 - November 15, 2014 Born in North Bay, Ontario died suddenly yet peacefully in Toronto, Ontario surrounded by his loving and cherished wife of 47 years Mary Jane Ginger Taylor (nee McKenzie), son John Taylor (Kimberley Ionson Taylor) and daughter Jane Durno (Don Durno). Gordon was a truly remarkable person. Intelligent, calm, clever, witty, always diplomatic and the gentlest soul you could ever meet. Beloved "Grandad" to his beautiful grandchildren Brooke and Jaime Taylor and Lexi, Isabella and Fraser Durno. Gordon adored them and loved it best when he was surrounded by them. He will be dearly missed by his great friends from his University days and of course Knox College. Special thanks to the wonderful medical team at the Toronto Western Hospital and his caregivers from Integra Care. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, November 18. Funeral and reception to take place in ST. ANDREWS PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (73 Simcoe Street at King and Simcoe) Wednesday November 19 at 11:00 o'clock. A committal service will be held at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME, 464 Wyld Street, North Bay, on Thursday November 20, 2014 at 1 p.m. A private interment to happen at a later date in North Bay.
