Obituary of Joan Livsey

LIVSEY, Joan Joan died suddenly in Toronto, Ontario on Monday, October 20, 2014 at the age of 77. Born November 12, 1936 in Sale, England. She was a former Physical Education teacher before moving to Canada in 1961. She continued her love of athletics throughout her life becoming a member of the Granite Club and the Hunt Club in Toronto, as well as a member of both Pelican Pointe and Mission Valley Country Club in Florida, where she spent her winter months for many years. She was an accomplished athlete in tennis, golf, lawn bowling and curling; often running circles around opponents years her junior. She is pre-deceased by her husband of 46 years Frank; and is survived by her daughter Elizabeth and son Michael, both of Toronto; her sisters Ann (John) Slavik of White Rock, B.C. and Elizabeth (Philip) Tye of Hobart, Tasmania; and her sister-in-law Nora (Terry) Payne of Adelaide, Australia. A memorial reception will be held at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Toronto Humane Society or to a charity of your choice.
