An amazing co-incidence brought my attention to Tony's Obituary. I know Tony from a long while ago when I enjoyed ballroom dancing. Even my sisters had the pleasure of dancing with him at my wedding celebration. I send my heartfelt condolences to the family. Tony will be remembered as a wonderful gentleman and a cherished friend. Dear Bernadette, Janine, John and Family. We were very sorry to hear about your Dad's passing and what a gentlemen he was . Full of life and that great smile and had such a positive attitude about life. I always enjoyed seeing Dad in the basement getting slacks or a suit made and catching up on family and world affairs. The love he had for you guys and your Mom was very evident and you were all the centre of his life. Sorry we could not be there today but you all are in our thoughts and prayers and we know how difficult a time this is but hoping the great memories of Dad will be of some comfort . BERNADETTE, JANIE & JOHN ...Please accept our sincere deepest sympathies on the passing on of your dearly beloved father, "TONY" ..to us ". We knew him (and your mother) having met them at our father/mothers home many times in Gravenhurst. Tony could light up a room, with his handsome looks and broad genuine smile. Ever the pleasant personality could charm all in the room. Tony was my dad's 'band' uniform tailor. What crazy 'jackets' of various colors, with stitching that never failed. Times that TONY came to Gravenhurst to fill in with dad's (HUGH CLAIRMONT) band, THE SANDSMAN, at the Muskoka Sands. A last minute call to step in, to arrive , never stopped TONY from rushing 2 hours away. Such a trooper and good friend. Many's a time Hugh went to Toronto, just to hang out with TONY. A friendship that lasted from the early / /60 s, until Hugh's death Dec. 25 TH, 1997. When your heavy heart lessens from your loss, laugh and enjoy the many wonderful times spent with your father, as he would want you to. Dear Bernadette, Janine, John & family. I loved your Dad! I started with the Tony Morra Orchestra almost 35yrs ago.He was kind, gracious, loyal, encouraging, helpful,talented & yes,always a gentlemen.Tony spoke at my wedding, celebrated the birth of my children & though Randy & I have lived in the States for many years I looked forward to our occasional visits & phone calls.I spoke to him last month & told him how much he has meant to me all these years & what I was praying for him.Your Dad was truly one of a kind, he will be greatly missed.I am praying you feel our Savior Jesus holding & comforting you with a peace that surpasses understanding as you say goodbye to your Daddy.Wish I could be with you Monday but my thoughts & prayers will be of you & Tony, smiling, telling a joke followed by his unique laugh..."until we meet again Tone". Bernadette, Janine, John & family - we were saddened to learn of your father's passing. We have many fond memories of your father that we will carry with us into the future. I always looked forward to seeing your father in his basement shop and talking about family (of which he was justifiably proud), music, and countless other topics - getting a suit was almost secondary. I will think of him whenever I hear Celia Cruz, Tito Puente or Arturo Sandoval, all of whom he introduced me to. But our fondest memory, for my father, Jane and me, will be of him leading the band at our wedding, now over 29 years ago. We won't be able to make it on Monday, but you will be in our thoughts.
