Obituary of Marcel Godfrey

Marcel "Joe" Honoré Godfrey Peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2014, at the age of 84, after an epic battle with multiple health issues. Funny, fussy, bossy and brave, he was a true character who lived and learned until the end. Best friend and 62-year partner to wife Helen Godfrey. Unforgettably opinionated father to Trish & Jamie, Ian & Richard, Lisa & Justin; grandfather to Jamieson, Adam, and Leo. Enchanted Great-Grandpa of Beatrice. Predeceased by 7 siblings. Joe Godfrey was a longtime GM employee, and Past President of Local 303. He was a student of tai chi, music, woodworking and painting. A progressive, decent man, who will continue to be loved and remembered. We salute and thank the compassionate nurses at Bridgepoint Hospital's 6 North, as did he. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28.
